Trainings and workshops

ExpandNet facilitators have supported governmental and non-governmental organizations, projects, consortia and donors to apply a scaling-up mindset throughout their work. Trainings and workshops range from shorter, distance-based collaborations to multi-day, in-person workshops focused on building capacity to work more systematically on scale up. ExpandNet facilitators work collaboratively to design and deliver different types of activities depending on the needs identified, the stage of scale up and available funding to undertake the exercise.

Examples of brief support include the provision of scaling-up workshops in which global scale-up learning and practical guidance tools are presented, discussed and applied to illustrative and real-life case exercises in an effort to strengthen participants' ability to plan and implement projects with scaling up in mind, to develop scaling-up strategies and to strategically manage the process of scale up.

ExpandNet members can also provide workshops via distance; however the team has found that such collaborations are best used for introducing the scaling-up framework and approach when further follow-up can be ensured. This is because internalizing a scaling-up mindset takes time and practical application, a process which also greatly benefits from external facilitation.
