Namadou Keita

Dr. Keita is a Specialist in Public Health and Social Medicine and has 32 years of experience in health and development in sub-Saharan Africa. From 1988 to 1992, he coordinated research and training activities in rural health at the Centre de Formation et de Recherche en Santé Rurale de Maferinya in Guinea, where he participated in the launch and implementation of the National Primary Health Care Program. From 1996 to 2004, he worked in Guinea in health projects focusing on reproductive health, family planning, STIs and HIV/AIDS at both the health facility and community levels. Dr. Keita is a senior regional trainer in Management and Leadership. From 2004 to 2008, he worked for the Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS) in the areas of strengthening individual and organizational capacities in health and development. Since 2008, he has been in charge of coordinating the Primary Health Care, Health Systems Strengthening and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Programs for WAHO. Under the program, it promotes, among other things, health systems research, health governance, health promotion, monitoring of the implementation of countries’ Primary Health Care programs, promotion of best practices in health, and since 2019, the coordination of NCDs, nutrition and food security interventions. In this last case, it coordinates the implementation of the Regional Nutrition Strategic Plan for West Africa 2018-2025, in collaboration with all stakeholders.
