Jim Ricca

Dr. James Ricca has spent more than 20 years implementing and studying facility and community-based health programs in maternal, newborn and child health, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and infectious diseases. His experience includes implementation and operations research, monitoring and evaluation, project management, training, capacity building, and strategic planning. Dr. Ricca has produced materials and published on the development of new maternal and newborn health indicators, sustainability of health programming, institutional capacity assessments, health facility assessments, and analyses of the effectiveness of NGO-facilitated community-based programming. Under MCHIP, Dr. Ricca served as Learning Advisor and Chief of Party in Mozambique, and supported PVOs/NGOs. He has worked with the American Red Cross in Latin America on a broad array of community and facility-based health programming, and as a faculty member in the Georgetown Department of Family Medicine.
