Ginette Hounkanrin is an international health and development expert with more than 12 years’ experience managing integrated health programs, mostly in West and Central Africa. Currently she serves as Pathfinder International (PI) Deputy Country Director in the Burkina Faso country office. In that capacity she plays a leading role in the design and the delivery of PI/Burkina country program. With a team of more than 100 professionals, she oversees the national program portfolio of six middle to high size projects funded by various donors including USAID, the Netherlands, Swedish and the Large Anonymous Donor, all with whom she maintains high level and healthy relationships. From 2018 to 2021, Dr Hounkanrin was the global AYSRHR technical lead for Pathfinder International USAID-funded global project Evidence to Action (E2A). From a technical side, she is a population and health specialist, recognized by the community of practice as an AYSRHR expert with extensive experience in co-designing and implementation of youth-driven tools, ideas, and solutions. While serving as youth expert at E2A, she played an outstanding role of positioning Pathfinder International as key partner of the Ouagadougou Partnership (OP) and founding member of the OP Youth Think Tank, a platform designed for and with OP Young people for ideas incubation and meaningful youth engagement. From 2015 to 2017, Dr Hounkanrin while working with the Agence de Medecine Preventive (AMP) as Africa Program Officer, provided technical assistance to the West and Central Africa ministries of health national immunization technical advisory groups (NITAGs) in evidence-informed immunization policy making. From 2010 to 2015, as the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) SRHR program manager she oversaw diverse SRHR programs in west and central Africa IPPF Members Associations (MAs).
