Rodio Diallo

Rodio Diallo, MPH, is an experienced global health leader, fluent in Ouolof, French, and English with more than 20 years of program implementation and advocacy experience. She has worked alongside government officials, donors, and civil society organizations to improve access to sexual and reproductive health including family planning for women in several regions of the globe. Ms. Diallo has worked with the Gates Foundation for the last nine years, currently as Deputy Director of Family Health, based in Nigeria, and previously as a Senior Program Officer managing the Foundation’s private sector family planning portfolio to increase access through pharmacies and drug shop channels. Prior to her tenure with the Gates Foundation, Ms. Diallo worked with Population Services International from 1996-2007 where she served in senior leadership roles in several francophone countries including as Country Representative for Togo, Guinea Bissau, Haiti (as Deputy), Mali and Uganda. From 2008-2010 she served as the Senegal Country Representative for IntraHealth as well as Chief of Party for a five-year USAID bilateral project to improve and integrate public sector MNCH, FP and malaria services in seven regions of Senegal. In these varied roles, Ms. Diallo led teams and initiatives across technical areas and portfolios that included reproductive health, malaria, HIV/AIDS, water and sanitation, and child survival. Ms. Diallo holds a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communication techniques from Dakar University Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree in Public Health for Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine at the University of London.
